If you want a game that focuses on going fast and killing zombies, one of the standout games that may be an interest an interest to you is Dying Light 2, the sequel to the first game where you can drop kick zombies off rooftops until your heart's content. This game feels like a true sequel for the fact that it contains everything people loved about the first game and more, including some of the same issues people had with the first game.

To start with, let us get one of the first thing any player will notice out of the way, the graphics. There has been a significant improvement to the graphics to the game, the first game had graphics that were dated but serviceable, however I am happy to say that the graphics are next gen, and the game looks incredible. Whether you are looking at a brick wall, a passing cloud or the disgusting faces of a zombie, every inch of the game looks amazing.

You will be happy to also know the combat and parkour are back in Dying Light fashion with even more features than the first game. In this game, there has been a bigger focus on mixing these two together, combat is extremely fluid, and the game makes you feel like every hit you take is your own fault and makes you want to improve at the game; Furthermore, enemies now adapt to your fighting pattern to encourage you to switch up your style on the go. Parkour has been improved as well, now featuring more moves so you can change it up on the fly, with the entire map being made with perfection to utilize all your skills, seriously the entire map has been made to make you feel amazing as you move through it. They have also added ropes around the map as a new parkour feature as well as a glider to help you move around quickly, both features feel natural with your environment and blend perfectly with the other moves.

The map has the same system of the first game, where you unlock the other half of the map by completing half of the story, with the major difference is that both maps are extremely huge compared to the first game with tons of secrets and easter eggs hidden around. It is honestly impressive how much detail they put into this game, apart from the main story and side quests there are tons of collectibles and random events to keep you busy for a good long while.

One of the main complaints about the game is the story. A big part of the advertisement for Dying Light 2 is the branching story line, however after at least 3 playthroughs we can safely say that it is more linear that it comes off. When most multi choice games have multiple branching paths, this games story has a few branching paths, but they are eventually led back to the main path. The main issue most have is that there is little player choice, the most we get is a few different pieces of dialogue and a different cutscene at the end.

The other issue with the game is the bugs. It would not be a modern triple A game without the vast number of bugs. There have been tons of crashes, soft locked missions, falling through the map, unfair deaths, T-posing ragdolls, and tons more. However, we believe that these bugs can easily be fixed after a few patch notes.

Overall, Dying Light 2 has a fun and engaging levelling system with exciting parkour and combat systems to truly make you feel like a zombie killing badass, the game truly makes you feel amazing whether your dodging attacks and strategizing how to attack the enemy or just jumping around the beautiful cities exploring the hundreds of things to do. However, the boring story and frustrating bugs do let the game down in some respects, however it is an enjoyable experience for the casual and hardcore gamer. This game is a solid and well deserved 5/5.
